"Here are some essential words for negotiation:

  • 협상 (hyeopsang) – Negotiation
  • 계약 (gyeyak) – Contract
  • 조건 (jogeon) – Terms/Conditions
  • 월급 (wolgeup) – Salary
  • 합의 (hapui) – Agreement



[ 2: Useful Phrases ]

"Here are phrases commonly used in negotiations:

Starting Negotiations:

  • '이 조건에 대해 논의하고 싶습니다.' (I jogeone daehae nonuihago sipseumnida.) – I’d like to discuss these terms.
  • '제안을 드리겠습니다.' (Jeaneul deurigetseumnida.) – Let me make an offer.

Discussing Salary or Terms:

  • '월급 인상을 요청합니다.' (Wolgeup insangeul yocheonghamnida.) – I’d like to request a salary increase.
  • '이 조건을 변경할 수 있나요?' (I jogeoneul byeongyeonghal su innayo?) – Can we change these terms?

Closing the Deal:

  • '합의에 도달했습니다.' (Hapuie dodalhaetseumnida.) – We’ve reached an agreement.

Manager:
이유를 말씀해 주시겠어요?

You:
저는 업무량이 많고 성과를 높였습니다.
(Jeoneun eommuryangi manko seongwareul nopyeotseumnida.) – I have a heavy workload and have achieved great results.

Manager:
좋습니다. 월급을 10% 인상하겠습니다.
(Joseumnida. Wolgeubeul sip peosenteu insanghagetseumnida.) – Okay. We’ll increase your salary by 10%.
