  • 메뉴 (menyu) – Menu
  • 주문 (jumun) – Order
  • 테이블 (teibeul) – Table
  • 계산서 (gyesanseo) – Bill
  • 물 (mul) – Water
  • 반찬 (banchan) – Side dishes
  • 맛있다 (masitda) – Delicious
  • 손님 (sonnim) – Customer

[2: Useful Phrases for Customer Interaction]

“Now, let’s practice some key phrases you’ll need when speaking with customers.

Welcoming Guests:

  • 어서 오세요! (eoseo oseyo!) – Welcome!
  • 몇 분이세요? (myeot bun-iseyo?) – How many people?

Taking Orders:

  • 주문하시겠어요? (jumun hasigesseoyo?) – May I take your order?
  • 음료는 무엇으로 드릴까요? (eumnyo-neun mueos-euro deurilkkayo?) – What would you like to drink?

Serving Food:

  • 여기 음식 나왔습니다. (yeogi eumsik nawassseumnida.) – Here is your food.
  • 맛있게 드세요! (masitge deuseyo!) – Enjoy your meal!

Asking for Feedback:

  • 음식이 맛있으셨나요? (eumsik-i masisseusyeonnayo?) – Did you enjoy the food?
  • 불편한 점이 있으셨나요? (bulpyeonhan jeom-i isseusyeonnayo?) – Was there anything inconvenient?

[3: Interaction with Kitchen Staff]

“In a restaurant, you’ll also need to communicate with the kitchen staff. Here are some useful phrases:

Communicating Orders:

  • 주문 들어왔습니다. (jumun deureowassseumnida.) – An order has come in.
  • 주문 다시 확인해 주세요. (jumun dasi hwaginhae juseyo.) – Please check the order again.

Reporting Customer Requests:

  • 손님이 더운 물을 요청하셨어요. (sonnim-i deoun mul-eul yocheonghasyeosseoyo.) – The customer requested hot water.
  • 손님이 소스를 더 달라고 하셨어요. (sonnim-i soseu-reul deo dallago hasyeosseoyo.) – The customer asked for more sauce.
